Liberty Elementary School Rededication

After years of dedication and hard work, the
new and very improved Liberty Elementary School
presented itself – Saturday, April 29, 2006.

On Saturday, April 29, 2006, the school opened its
doors to all current and former parents, students,
teachers, other staff and the community-at-large to
celebrate Liberty’s improved educational environment.

The Liberty School library has undergone a major update.

The library is a wonderfully improved learning environment.

Linda Lafferty is in her eighth year at Liberty School
as the librarian and computer teacher.

Principal Marjorie Murphy welcomed Mr. Ben Hicks.
Mr. Hicks participated in the Liberty celebration
representing his deceased wife, Carol, who was a
reading teacher at Liberty for 20 years.
The new library is dedicated to Mrs. Carol Hicks.

Six year-old Liberty student Briana Snyder paid a
Saturday visit to her kindergarten teacher Michelle Gehring.

The Rededication at Liberty provided a reunion for teachers
(L to R) Jean Torok-Wimer, Michelle Gehring, Nancy Davis
and Sue McQuillan represent current and former Liberty teachers.

The PFT’s Rufus Jordan visits with former Liberty teachers

The exterior of Liberty School provides a wonderful area
for learning. Trees surround the playground. A tree
at the school has been planted in memory of Kimberly
(Ms. Kim) Fanelli-Moses. The weather was beautiful for
the Liberty event and everyone enjoyed the bright day.

The staff prepared materials that looked into Liberty’s notable past.

The multipurpose room was the focal-point for the
formal portions of the Renaissance Celebration.

Principal Murphy presents representatives of the
Hicks and Fanelli-Moses families to the audience.

The administration and staff of Liberty Elementary were
thrilled with the community’s involvement for the celebration.

Jorie Murphy called Liberty teachers, staff and custodians
to the stage for special recognition.

Liberty instrumental music students provide an entertaining
close to the celebration.

Liberty Elementary School now looks toward future accomplishments.
